A few days ago, we said if you only buy one thing at Costco this month, it should be this elegant and classic brunch dish made of eggs, dairy, and fillings baked in a buttery pastry crust. While we still stand by La Terra Fina Quiche and all its eggy amazingness, there’s something else that needs to be thrown on that list.
The Sanders Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Caramels are what dreams are absolutely made of. This decadent snack mixes buttery caramel inside a layer of dark chocolate and is topped with sea salt. The caramel-to-chocolate ratio is just right, so neither is overpowering, and the sea salt comes across just enough to get hints of it without being overly salty.
These are so irresistible that the packaging should be slapped with a warning label, and I’m not the only one who thinks that. One quick search and you’ll find posts of people praising the snack. The recommendations, however, also come with strong caution.
“Friendly reminder not to let the devil that is Sanders Caramels into your home. My husband and I went to Costco a week ago, ate the last one today,” said one Reddit post.
Other Reddit users chime in and encourage dumping the crumbs on top of ice cream or putting them in the microwave first.
Costco is known to tease its fans by pulling our favorite things off the shelves, but the great thing is that Sanders chocolate-covered caramels are available throughout the year. And you can even find them on Amazon — just in case you can’t make it to Costco to nab them.
As we mentioned a few months ago, Sanders Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Caramels also make a great gift. If you decide to purchase for gifting, though, we recommend buying a backup present in case this one doesn’t make it home.
