Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb was a noticeable absentee from Wednesday’s practice due to an ankle injury.
This marks the first time Lamb has been sidelined this season, raising questions about his availability for the team’s Week 3 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens.

Despite the injury, sources within the Cowboys organization remain optimistic.
According to a report from ESPN’s Todd Archer, there is no major concern regarding Lamb’s status for Sunday’s game.
He still has two more practices to prove his readiness to suit up against Baltimore.
In addition to Lamb, other Cowboys players also missed Wednesday’s practice, including cornerback Trevon Diggs (foot) and defensive tackle Mazi Smith (back).
While Diggs is also expected to be available against Baltimore, the Cowboys’ injury list is piling up early in the season.
The next few days of practice will be critical for Lamb and the Cowboys as they prepare to host a Ravens team that has started the season strong.
Lamb’s presence on the field could be the difference between another tough loss or a chance to right the ship.
Cowboys look to bounce back after embarrassing loss
Lamb’s absence comes on the heels of the Cowboys’ disappointing 44-19 loss to the New Orleans Saints, where the All-Pro wideout played 58 of 70 offensive snaps.
He was productive early in the game, catching four passes for 90 yards, including an impressive 65-yard touchdown.
All of Lamb’s receptions came in the first half, however, and the Cowboys struggled to keep pace with the Saints after halftime.
Reflecting on the game, Lamb said, “New Orleans won the game. We played terrible. We didn’t play complementary football. The scoreboard says it all.”
Lamb’s 65-yard touchdown provided a brief spark for Dallas, but it wasn’t enough to change the outcome.
The wide receiver admitted that facing double coverage is something he’s grown accustomed to.
“They were doubling me, and I kind of told Dak a double team don’t really intimidate me at all. I’m expecting that all year, and I still can win. Great execution by us. We need more of that.”
The Cowboys offense has leaned heavily on Lamb this season, and his connection with quarterback Dak Prescott will be crucial if they hope to rebound from their tough start.
Prescott and Lamb have connected on just 9 of 17 targets for 151 yards and one touchdown through two games, a rate that needs improvement if Dallas is to turn things around.
With a tough matchup against 2023 NFL MVP Lamar Jackson and the Ravens looming, the Cowboys can’t afford to lose Lamb, who is a key piece of their offensive puzzle.
