Kansas City Chiefs might strike back at Bills with bold move to counter Cooper’s arrival

Yesterday was a busy day in the NFL, one day after the Buffalo Bills 23-20 win over the New York Jets in Monday night, both teams decided to add a top wide reciever to their roster. First, the Jets reunited Davante Adams with his friend Aaron Rodgers in a trade with the Las Vegas Raiders, something that had been rumored for weeks and finally came to fruition yesterday. The other move was the Bills adding Amari Cooper to the already powerful offense led by Josh Allen, it seems to me that with this move the Bills will win for the fifth consecutive season their division but Adams in the Jets promises to give them a good fight until the end.

Chiefs could answer with the same spoon and shake up the AFC

In this situation, the back-to-back champions Kansas City Chiefs, with the injuries of Rice and Brown, could also add a wide receiver to their ranks. Bleacher Report suggested a trade with the Tennessee Titans for the wide receiver Deandre Hopkins, who at 32 years old, like Adams at 31, needs to be on a contending team because time does not forgive. Hopkins has 14 receptions, 175 yards and one touchdown this season, he has a 2-year contract for $26M signed in 2023 and the offense with Will Levis is inoperative, a trade for Hopkins would be a luxury and would strengthen the Chiefs to try to be the first three-peat winner in history.

In his 12 seasons, Hopkins has 12551 yards and 79 touchdowns with three teams, the Houston Texans, who drafted him with the 27th overall pick in 2013, the Arizona Cardinals, where he played great, make awesome plays, but never made the playoffs in three years, and now Tennessee, a franchise with no clear future. In comparison, the Chiefs could take some second, third round draft picks and exploit the potential of Hopkins, who was one of the best a few years ago. Hopkins could also be an excellent mentor for rookie Xavier Worthy and second-year Rashee Rice. But hey, it’s just an idea that would give the Chiefs a nice boost against the Bills, who are much more of a threat than the Jets.

Chiefs Upcoming Games

Despite injuries to three star offensive players (Rice, Pacheco and Brown), the Chiefs are 5-0 for the fifth time in franchise history. However, in a bad omen, the Chiefs failed to reach the Super Bowl in the four previous instances this century (2003, 2013, 2017, 2018). Kansas City is now one of two remaining undefeated teams in the NFL (along with the Minnesota Vikings), and both teams will have tough matchups after a well-deserved bye week. The Chiefs will return to action on October 20th in a highly anticipated Super Bowl rematch against the San Francisco 49ers, and the Vikings will host the Detroit Lions in a clash of two of the season’s biggest powerhouses, so we’re sure to have another great week of football ladies and gentlemen.
