Old arrogant LeBron James tweet about Bronny resurfaces as rookie’s struggles continue

Bronny James is truly in a precarious position. On one hand, he’s blessed to be able to play in the NBA and do so alongside his father. On the other hand, his father is LeBron James, which means every move Bronny makes will be scrutinized. We haven’t even started the regular season and that’s already the case.

In fact, it began before he even got drafted. Many fans didn’t believe he warranted being selected following an inauspicious lone season at USC. The Los Angeles Lakers took him anyway, squarely to play with LeBron. Bronny was always expected to have an uphill battle to carve out consistent playing time in his rookie season, but his preseason performance has surprised even his haters.

His efficiency and counting numbers are staggering, which has prompted some fans to dig up an old tweet from LeBron in which he claimed Bronny was better than a few NBA players he was watching back in 2023.

Bronny James hasn’t made an offensive impact in preseason

LeBron may have spoken too soon, as Bronny has looked out of place on the Los Angeles Lakers during the preseason, to say the least. Of course, nothing is set in stone; after all, Bronny is just 20 years old and doesn’t have a ton of experience playing with grown men.

But it’s nonetheless concerning that Bronny hasn’t been able to contribute anything offensively. Defense was likely to be his calling card, but if he can’t do anything on offense, he won’t get much of any playing time in his first season.
