He added, “They’ve won games, they’ve won Super Bowls, they’ve made plays in big moments, and Brett Veach has done a great job of bringing players in that can step up whenever their number is called.”

Mahomes has a lot of faith in the roster, crediting Veach and head coach Andy Reid for their strategic moves. “Every time I step on that football field, I feel like we have the best ability to win,” he said. “That’s a credit to Brett Veach and Coach Reid bringing in guys that really get after it and put in the work to be great every single day.” This confidence is crucial, especially with injuries sidelining two of their top wide receivers, Rashee Rice and Hollywood Brown.

With these injuries, the Chiefs are left with Xavier Worthy, JuJu Smith-Schuster, and Justin Watson as their key wideouts. Worthy, the Chiefs’ first-round draft pick, has already made a splash with 12 catches and four touchdowns, including two rushing. Smith-Schuster has also been impressive, racking up seven catches for 130 yards in the recent game against the New Orleans Saints. Meanwhile, Watson has contributed six catches for 87 yards this season, showing that the depth in the receiving corps is still strong.

Mahomes confident in resilience of his wide receiver corps
