Dak Prescott’s injury is a big problem for Kevin Durant for a reason everyone understands

If the Dallas Cowboys’ season couldn’t get worse after that Detroit Lions game, it already has with the news that their $240m quarterback, Dak Prescott, will be sidelined indefinitely due to injury. But why is it a big deal for the NBA’s Kevin Durant?

The 31-year-old is dealing with a hamstring issue meaning he won’t be taking to the field at the AT&T Stadium for “an extended period of time” as he likely heads to the injured reserve list for the foreseeable future.

And it’s bad news for Durant, who stars for the Phoenix Suns, as he unfortunately picked the QB as his first option in NFL fantasy, dealing a devastating blow to his fantasy hopes for the 2024/25 season.

“I hate that Dak’s out,” Durant told Up & Adams. “I hate when guys go out with injuries for that long.

“(They) disrupt their season. … I hope he gets a speedy recovery. My fantasy team took a hit for sure.”

How long will Dak Prescott be out for?

Due to NFL injured reserve protocol, the quarterback would be out for at least four weeks meaning that he will miss the Cowboys’ games against the Philadelphia Eagles, Houston Texans, Washington Commanders and New York Giants.

The upcoming clashes with the Eagles (November 10) and Commanders (November 24) are big games in particular to Jerry Jones and Mike McCarthy’s outfit as America’s Team bids to recover to the top of the NFC East.

They currently find themselves in fourth place with a 3-5 record (.375) meaning they are trailing the Commanders by four games and the Eagles by three as their hopes of making the NFL postseason dwindle before their eyes.

Dallas’ offense has struggled big time in 2024/25, recording just 171 points whilst the lack of attacking power has put their defense under pressure as they have allowed 225 points, more than the Giants who are last in the division.
