The New York Jets and their star quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, are entering the 2024 NFL season with an impressive roster, but Rodgers wishes he could have one more weapon at his disposal.
Davante Adams reveals constant recruiting from Aaron Rodgers
General Manager Joe Douglas made significant moves in the offseason, bringing in talents like Mike Williams and Tyron Smith to bolster the offense.
Additionally, the team drafted Malachi Corley, providing Rodgers with another valuable weapon.
Despite the robust lineup, Rodgers has his sights set on one more addition: Las Vegas Raiders’ wide receiver, Davante Adams.
In a recent interview on “Up & Adams,”Adams confirmed that Rodgers has been actively recruiting him to New York.
“He’s in that ear, that’s for sure. He’s in the ear but it’s not easy. Obviously, we can get together and talk about the old times and the potential of doing this and that but I’m a Raider and he knows that,”Adams remarked.
Rodgers and Adams have a storied history from their time with the Green Bay Packers, where they formed one of the most formidable quarterback-wide receiver duos in the league.
Adams spent the first eight seasons of his career in Green Bay, thriving under Rodgers’ leadership.
Despite the unlikelihood of the reunion, the possibility of rekindling that chemistry in New York has sparked significant interest among NFL fans.
Raiders are counting on Davante Adams
Adams remains committed to the Raiders, with two years left on his contract after the current season, albeit with an opt-out option for Las Vegas that would incur a $15.7 million salary cap hit.
While Adams hasn’t expressed any dissatisfaction with his current team or made any trade demands, the prospect of reuniting with Rodgers remains tantalizing.
Last season, Adams showcased his elite skills, recording 103 receptions for 1,144 receiving yards and eight touchdowns despite facing challenges with unproven quarterback play.
His consistent performance has earned him three first-team All-Pro selections in his career, cementing his status as one of the league’s top wide receivers.
