Broncos end playoff drought in style as WAGs celebrate milestone

It’s been a long wait, Broncos fans-but the drought is finally over! For the first time in eight years, Denver is heading to the NFL playoffs, and no one is celebrating harder than the players’ families and significant others.

Moments after the Broncos demolished the Kansas City Chiefs 38-0 on Sunday, the team’s WAGs (wives and girlfriends) took to social media to share their excitement. Izzy Nix, wife of rookie quarterback Bo Nix, posted a spirited Instagram story from the field alongside Nicolette Dellanno (fiance of backup QB Zach Wilson) and Kennedy Stidham (wife of Jarrett Stidham). Her caption? A jubilant “BUFFALO BOUND!!!!!!!!”

Denver’s breakout rookie quarterback, Bo Nix, was the star of Sunday’s game. With a dazzling performance-26 completions on 29 attempts, 321 yards, and four touchdowns-he left no doubt that the Broncos mean business heading into the postseason.

The Broncos finished the regular season 10-7, a remarkable turnaround fueled by Nix’s leadership. Drafted 12th overall in 2024, the former Oregon standout quickly became a fan favorite, throwing 29 touchdowns and even scoring a receiving touchdown during his debut campaign.

Family, food, and football: The bonds behind Denver’s playoff push

Behind the scenes, Denver’s quarterbacks have formed a tight-knit unit, bolstered by the bonds between their families. Kennedy Stidham, married to veteran backup Jarrett Stidham, recently gave fans a peek into their weekly quarterback dinners, a tradition that’s become a cornerstone of team chemistry.

“It’s been amazing to share this journey with such a great group of people,” Kennedy told 9News Denver last month. “The support from everyone-on and off the field-has been incredible.”

Zach Wilson, acquired in a trade from the Jets, has also played a key role in fostering this camaraderie. After three turbulent seasons in New York, Wilson has embraced his role as a mentor and teammate in Denver.

The Broncos’ reward for their playoff berth? A wild-card matchup against the second-seeded Buffalo Bills. The game is set for 1 p.m. on Sunday, and Denver faces a formidable challenge in slowing down Josh Allen and the high-powered Bills offense.

While the odds might not be in their favor, the Broncos have already defied expectations this season. For fans and players alike, just being in the postseason is cause for celebration.
