Brazil has awakened after beating Paraguay 4-1, and with that they achieved the first victory of the Copa Amrica, after its frustrating draw against Costa Rica in their debut. The Brazilian team changed its image and won thanks to a great performance by Vincius Junior, author of two of the goals.
From the beginning, Dorival’s men showed their abilities, based on their amazing speed and skill of Vincius. In the first minutes he missed some clear chances and the doubts about his debut resurfaced. Added to this was the failure of Lucas Paquet, who missed a penalty in the 31st minute.
Turmoil returned but a few minutes later, the first goal came at the feet of Vini, who put together a great play on the left side, teamed up inside and ended up scoring the goalkeeper with a dribble to make it 1-0.
There the Paraguayan resistance ended. At 43 came the second after a powerful shot by Rodrygo, which the goalkeeper left alive, and the ball was served to Svio for the 2-0.
Two more goals were on the way to seal the victory
Before the end of the first half came the third goal, with a fanned 7, which accelerated the Paraguayan start and anticipated the departure of Omar Alderete to make it 3-0. At the beginning of the second half there was a reaction from the Albirroja, with their only score achieved by Alderete himself, at the 48th minute of the game.
Julio Enciso was close to the second, causing a huge reaction from goalkeeper Alisson, who saved Brazil. And then the comeback attempt faded as the minutes passed and the Brazilian win was sentenced with another penalty. Paquet had revenge and scored without problems to make it 4-1.
With the victory, Brazil reached 4 points and settled in the qualification zone, having the possibility of winning the group if they defeat Colombia, on the third and last match of Group D. The Albirroja was eliminated without points and will play against Costa Rica, who have a slim chance of qualifying.
