Former Seattle Seahawks defensive back Earl Thomas is dealing with some legal issues after court documents revealed he was allegedly defrauded out of a sizeable amount of money by his estranged wife.
According to TMZ, the 35-year-old, who last played in the NFL back in 2019, was defrauded out of close to $3 million by Nina Thomas.
The court documents state she began taking money from the former NFL player after she filed for divorce in 2020, and with the help of a co-conspirator, transferred assets out of his account and into her own. She is alleged to have used some of the funds on breast implants and a Hermes Birkin handbag.

Court records show that Nina was taken into custody earlier this week and charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud, wire fraud, money laundering and aggravated identity theft.
Ugly end to marriage between the two
Things went sour for the couple in November 2020 when Nina filed for divorce. The move came months after authorities stated she held Earl at gunpoint after finding him in bed with two women and his brother, Seth.
She was later granted a restraining order by a judge after Earl allegedly attacked her while drunk a day after Christmas in 2021.
Then in 2023, Nina’s new boyfriend was arrested for allegedly stealing Earl’s identity in a $1.9 million scam. Identified by New Orleans police as Kevin J. Thompson, he as accused of cashing several of Earl’s NFL checks, stealing from his bank account and transferring car ownership for several vehicles.
Thomas played nine seasons with the Seahawks and one with the Ravens, finishing his career with 30 interceptions, over 700 tackles and seven Pro Bowl appearances. He was released by the Ravens before the 2020 season for “personal conduct that adversely affected” the team.
