Jerry Jones criticized after his harsh words on the radio

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has been slammed for his comments made on live radio as he hit out at criticism concerning the roster following the franchise’s embarrassing 47-9 defeat to the Detroit Lions.

Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb were completely shut down in the contest as the Cowboys couldn’t even score a touchdown on their home turf, slumping to a third consecutive defeat at the AT&T Stadium.

And Jones has invested $376 million of his own personal fortune into penning those players to new deals so he probably wasn’t in the best mood and whilst speaking to 105.3 The Fan, the 82-year-old let his temper flare.

“This is not your job. Your job isn’t to let me go over all the reasons that I did something and I’m sorry that I did it,” Jones said, before appearing to threaten to have the hosts fired. “That’s not your job. I’ll get somebody else to ask these questions. I’m not kidding.

“You’re not going to figure it out what the team is doing right or wrong. If you are, or any five or 10 like you, you need to come to this (NFL) meeting I’m going to today with 32 teams here, you’re geniuses.

“You really think you’re gonna sit here with a microphone and tell me all of the things that I’ve done wrong without going over the rights? Listen, we both know we’re talking to a lot of great fans, a lot of great listeners. And I’m very sorry for what happened out there Sunday. I’m sick about what happened Sunday.”

Fans react to Jones’ comments

As a result, fans have wasted no time in hitting out at the billionaire for his comments as he seemed to levy his power and influence in order to manipulate the free media and free press into not grilling him.

One user said on X.com, formerly Twitter, “He needs to step down.”

A second added, “So I take it he didn’t have the greatest 82nd birthday.”

And a third wrote, “Dang. He just threatened their job because of a legitimate question.”

Whilst a fourth added, “This, it’s actually extremely disturbing and disgusting to think I root for a team with an owner like him.”
