Dak Prescott has consistently been one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL, with statistics to match the league’s best. Despite his performance, he hasn’t secured a contract as substantial as some of his counterparts.
A new rumor suggests that an injury might be hindering Prescott‘s chances of getting a new deal as the 2024 season approaches. On “The Ross Tucker Podcast,” pro sports bettor Steve Fezzik hinted that Prescott isn’t at full health just weeks before minicamp begins.
Fezzik didn’t provide details on the injury or its severity, but he implied it was significant enough to make bettors wary of the Dallas Cowboys‘ prospects.
“News is, he’s not 100 percent, and they’ve been betting against the Cowboys the last three days,” Fezzik said.
“There’s rumors that he had an MRI. That’s unconfirmed, but that’s the rumors that I’m hearing.”
Will the Cowboys offer Prescott a new deal?
If Prescott‘s health is indeed a concern, it could explain why the Cowboys are hesitant to offer him a record-breaking contract.
Prescott has the potential to become the first NFL quarterback to earn $60 million per year, but the Cowboys might be cautious about making such a commitment if his health is in question.
Dallas is projected to win 10 games this season, down from the 12 wins and NFC East division title they achieved last year. This lowered expectation isn’t solely pinned on Prescott’s rumored injury, as the team also lost key players such as Tony Pollard and Tyron Smith in free agency.
