MLS team dreaming of landing Antoine Griezmann

After successfully signing Hugo Lloris and Olivier Giroud, Los Angeles FC is now looking to bring Antoine Griezmann on board, either starting this summer or in 2025, according to L’Equipe.

Griezmann has scored a total of 190 goals and provided 90 assists in 492 professional matches. As an international player for France, he has played 135 matches and scored 44 goals.

The French footballer has a contract with Atletico Madrid until 2025, with an option for an additional year, which might make his departure easier.

The Los Angeles-based team is not in a rush to secure his transfer because they know that if they wait until the summer of 2025, either as a free agent or with only one year left on his contract, his transfer from the Spanish club would be cheaper. His release clause is set at 10 million euros.

Griezmann’s love of the USA

Griezmann has previously expressed a strong interest in moving to the MLS, driven by his love for the American lifestyle and sports culture, particularly the NBA and NFL.

He has mentioned both Miami and Los Angeles as potential destinations, with LAFC and Inter Miami being strong contenders for his signature. The presence of his national teammates Lloris and Giroud at LAFC could influence his decision to join the Los Angeles-based team

Griezmann’s move would not only be a significant addition to LAFC but also a notable step in his career, as he has stated his desire to finish his European career at Atletico Madrid and then explore opportunities in the MLS.
