OpenAI is working on a new search engine, according to Bloomberg, to make its question-answering even better. According to reports the search engine will be part of ChatGPT where users can ask questions and get answers sourced from the internet, like from Wikipedia or blogs.
Bloomberg says it could potentially be a competitor to Google. It might even show answers with both text and pictures. For example, if you ask ChatGPT how to change a car battery, you might see a diagram showing the steps.
Some earlier reports mentioned that this search feature would use Bing, which is owned by Microsoft. And there’s even a domain called search.chatgpt.com that OpenAI has created that engineers have uncovered.
No official word from OpenAI yet.
