Two former wide receivers have been speaking about the serious threat made to Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce.
The pair attended a Morgan Wallen at the Chiefs’ world-famous Arrowhead Stadium this week, but the concert had to be delayed by 40 minutes due to a threat made on social media.
Aaron Brown, a 23-year-old from Winchester, Illinois, tweeted: “Mr. [redacted] at Arrowhead with the wife. If he brings out [redacted] or [redacted] I’ll take the f***in’ shot. F**k em!”
Police had to delay the concert so that they could locate Brown and ensure he was not a threat, with Kelce and Mahomes present. Brown now faces a class-E felony for making a “terroristic threat’.
On the back of the incident, former NFL stars Chad ‘Ochocinco’ Johnson and Shannon Sharpe have had their say.
“You got to be careful man,” Johnson warned on their Nightcap livestream. “Depending on who the threat is directed at, oh they coming to get you.”
He added: “You talking to Kelce and Mahomes talk about what you gonna do come on now that’s like that’s like talking trash Trump or goddamn Biden or Miss Harris oh they coming to get you now they coming to see oh yeah you better the rest of there wait they they coming to see you now.”
Sharpe then weighed in, adding: “It used to be the same way in the airport. I got a bomb in my bag… Keep on playing now.”
Brown facing serious charges
Brown reportedly said upon his arrest that: “It was a stupid, stupid, stupid mistake.” But his actions still negatively impacted the evening that saw Mahomes, Kelce and superstar teammate Chris Jones attend in personalized Chiefs jerseys.
Ultimately, police have to be ultra careful with such threats given the number of fatal gun violence incidents in the United States. Earlier this year there was a fatal shooting at the Chiefs’ Super Bowl celebration parade, and more recently, of course, the country saw an assassination attempt on Donald Trump. Brown’s bond is set at $15,000.
