Patrick Mahomes steals the show from the stands in Colorado’s win over Texas Tech

Patrick Mahomes, the legendary Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, ‘made an appearance’ at Jones AT&T Stadium to support the Texas Tech Red Raiders as they took on the Colorado Buffaloes.

Mahomes, who helped design a special Adidas uniform that the Red Raiders debuted for this key game and was an inspiration, was not enough for Texas Tech to come out on top in this game.

Although Patrick Mahomes ‘was there in a special way’ supporting from the stands, Colorado Buffaloes came away with the 41-27 victory.

The game between Texas Tech and Colorado, with Coach Deion Sanders at the helm of the Buffaloes, with the eighth best aerial offense in the country, has become a lethal force on the field and with this win Coach Prime’s team now has a clear path to the College Football Playoff.

Texas Tech was looking to take advantage of Mahomes’ energy from the stands, where fans could see a giant Red Raiders jersey with Patrick’s face, a detail that injected emotion and pride in both players and fans, but it was not enough against the Buffaloes who took the field to show that they are ready to reach the top this season.

These uniforms, with a worn gray base and silver highlights, capture Mahomes’ fighting spirit. They are imprinted with the iconic “gladiator” that represents his legacy at Texas Tech and his successful NFL career.

“Seeing my own logo on the Texas Tech uniform, a team I left blood, sweat and tears on, is one of the most significant accomplishments of my career off the field,” commented Mahomes.

Prior to the game there was an emotional moment between the two coaches at the game, Deion Sanders ‘adored’ Texas Tech coach Joey McGuire in a unique and very respectful and admiring way.

Conference games are always contentious, especially in the Big 12. Anyway, many eyes were on Colorado and Texas Tech. But what made this game even more special was the relationship between head coaches Deion Sanders and Joey McGuire.

Leading up to the game, both coaches spoke glowingly about each other. And when it came time for the game, Sanders literally bowed and worshipped McGuire as the two met before the game.

Sanders and McGuire have developed a friendship over the years.
