Paul Pogba, who tested positive for DHEA on 20 August against Udinese and was suspended for four years for doping, is not “destroyed”, “dead” or “finished” as has been reported in some media reports.
Tuttosport has revealed that the origin of this unpleasant hoax is a piece of information from ‘The Guardian Nigerian’ that immediately went viral around the world.
It seems that Paul Pogba‘s old statements to Al Jazeera in 2022 were taken out of context, in which he states that “football is cruel, look at people like Cristiano Ronaldo or Leo Messi, every time they have to prove something, despite what they have won and proved. One day you’re at the top of your game, the next day, if you don’t do it, you’re finished. I can be champion today and then…”.
“I’m finished, I’m dead, Pogba doesn’t exist anymore,” Pogba said in a decontextualised statement that has gone around the world two years later.
Paul Pogba, the 31-year-old midfielder who won the 2018 World Cup with France, has played for Le Havre, Manchester United and Juventus during his successful career.
