It’s usually a good time to be Travis Kelce — but it’s also true that the past couple weeks haven’t been so kind to the Kansas City Chiefs star. Kelce is off to a slow start in the 2024 NFL season, especially by his outrageous standard, and the legendary tight end is under a bit of pressure to correct it quickly.
In his personal life, Kelce and his superstar partner Taylor Swift have been together for a year as one of the world’s most famous couples. But even Swift — now on a rare break from touring — has been getting in Kelce’s ear as intrigue around the couple’s lives together only increases.
Taylor wants Travis to be a little more “mindful”
According to Life & Style, Swift is a proud girlfriend who “appreciates” Kelce’s loving gestures — but she has told him that there are times where, as she once sang, he needs to calm down.
“Travis loves to show Taylor off,” an insider said. “She appreciates it but she’s cautioning him from revealing too much about their private lives.”
The comments come amid criticism for Kelce and Swift following their appearance at the US Open men’s singles final in New York City earlier this month — where the two were ripped for their “cringeworthy” and even disrespectful behavior at Arthur Ashe Stadium. Their singalong to “I Believe in a Thing Called Love” turned heads and went viral, but it also may have made the Grammy winner Swift more cautious — a sentiment she has expressed to her three-time Super Bowl champion boyfriend.
“He wears his heart on his sleeve and says what’s on his mind,” the insider continued. “She’s reminding Travis to be a little more discreet.”
With this pointer in mind, Kelce should be even more motivated to snap out of his early-season funk and deliver one of his signature performances on Sunday night, when the Chiefs visit the Atlanta Falcons at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. It is as-yet unconfirmed as to whether Swift will take in her 16th Chiefs game in the past year — but Kelce will enter that matchup ready to make a difference.
