Walker Kessler, star center for the Utah Jazz, couldn’t be more thrilled for his girlfriend, Abbie Stockard, after her incredible victory at Miss America 2025 on Sunday in Orlando.

While the Jazz secured a 105-92 win over the Orlando Magic that evening, Kessler took to Instagram to express his pride and admiration for Stockard, an Alabama nursing student.

“Congratulations Abbie! I am so proud of you and everything you stand for. Your hard work and trust in the Lord has awarded you with this incredible opportunity! Use your light to shine on others around you! Love you,” Kessler, 23, wrote alongside a video of the moment he learned of Stockard’s win.

In the video, Kessler, who was watching the Miss America broadcast on his phone, drops it in joyful disbelief when Stockard’s name is announced. He later shared a warm embrace with her, celebrating her big moment together.

Stockard, 22, who previously earned the title of Miss Alabama in June, had been sharing her excitement leading up to the Miss America ceremony.

“I am ECSTATIC and so expectant for the experience ahead! Thank you to everyone for all of the sweet messages and words of encouragement! I truly am so appreciative for all of the support. I feel like the most celebrated girl in the state!” she posted.

Kessler, a first-round pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, has been by Stockard’s side throughout her journey, although the exact timeline of their relationship is unclear.

The couple welcomed the new year together in Utah, with Kessler commenting on Stockard’s Instagram.

“Excited to start the new year with you.” They also share the same birthday, July 26, adding another connection between them.

Their bond, built on mutual support and shared celebrations, was clearly evident as Kessler stood by Stockard during her victorious night.
