Could the Las Vegas Raiders‘ ex-coach join the Kansas City Chiefs as Andy Reid potentially strikes up an old friendship to bolster his Super Bowl winning advisors and coaches ahead of the 2024 season?
The Chiefs are looking for a record third Super Bowl in a row and Jon Gruden was spotted in Missouri recently so is he meeting up with Reid to discuss a collaboration at the Arrowhead Stadium?

Gruden served as head coach in Nevada from 2018-21, 20 years on from first joining them in 1998 when they were still based in Oakland, but to explore his connection to Reid one has to go all the way back to 1992 when he served as an offensive assistant coach.
“We were both young and we were able to learn a ton from a great head coach,” Reid said in 2018 of their time with the Green Bay Packers. “Jon and I spent a lot of time together, along with Steve Mariucci.
“We were the youngest guys on the staff. We all kind of bonded and did our thing. We did a lot of the gopher work, which we loved. Great learning experience and great foundation to build on.
“We had a blast with that stuff – who could find what or design what. We had a blast with that. He’s a creative mind, so you’ve got to stay on your A-game when you are hanging with him.”
Why might Gruden join?
Interestingly, Gruden was spotted wearing the red of the Kansas City Chiefs and he even had a meeting with Isiah Pacheco too, where he spoke to him and potentially offered some words of advise.
The Super Bowl-winning coach with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers against the Oakland Raiders in 2002, one year on from his departure from the Raiders, also worked as a wide receiver specialist meaning he could potentially return to help the Chiefs dodge a recurrence of their 2023 issues.
