The Kansas City Chiefs‘ Travis Kelce will not be in Germany to support Taylor Swift as the pop sensation continues with her Eras Tour, which next arrives to the famous city of Hamburg in the European nation.
The NFL tight end has his own career obligations once again as he was summoned to a mandatory training camp for the Chiefs‘ preseason plans as they bid to win a third successive Super Bowl, becoming the first ever team to do so.
So, after appearances in London, Amsterdam and Gelsenkirchen, he has had to fly back to the United States of America whilst his girlfriend remains in Europe to finish off the second phase of the record-breaking tour which will leave the Eurasian landmass for good on August 20.
It’s been a hectic couple of months for them, which even included Kelce making a surprise appearance on stage at Wembley before he met the British Royal Family too, and he revealed the cameo was his idea.
“”I initially mentioned it to Tay [Swift],” Kelce told his New Heights podcast. “I was like, ‘How funny would it be if I just rolled out on one of the bikes during the ‘1989’ era?'”
Initially a joke, he was surprised to find out Swift was enthusiastic about the idea before Kelce added, “I was just like, ‘What? I would love to do that, are you kidding me? I’ve seen the show enough, might as well put me to work here.'”
“Sure enough, she found the perfect part of the show for me to come in.”
When does the NFL season start?
The triple champion will get his season underway when Kelce‘s Kansas City Chiefs take on the Baltimore Ravens live on NBC at 20:20 ET/17:20 PT on Thursday, September 5 in a rematch of the AFC Conference Championship game.
On that night, the Chiefs emerged victorious before going on to win the Super Bowl at the Allegiant Stadium in Nevada over the San Francisco 49ers.
