Luck knocked on the door of the Philadelphia Seventy Sixers in the win against the Miami Heat to enter the NBA playoffs. In a regular play by Jimmy Butler with Kelly Oubre Jr., the Miami Heat star was injured, lying on the court with severe pain in his knee.
The first half was doomed as the Miami Heat had a 12-point lead playing a zone defense that had not been deciphered by Philadelphia’s coach.
Turnovers against the Miami Heat’s defensive pressure caused Philadelphia to sink deeper and deeper into a hole that would leave them in an uncomfortable position entering the playoffs.
But once again Joel Embiid was lucky and with Jimmy Butler’s injury the team little by little fell apart. The x factor of the game, Nicolas Batum, scoring from any pass he received, made the Miami Heat have no answer to defend him. Many silly mistakes by Tyler Hero cost Miami key possessions.
Now the Philadelphia 76Sixers will face the New York Knicks starting in the first round of the NBA playoffs, while Miami will need a victory on Friday at home to move into eighth place.
