Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has announced that his family’s upcoming addition will be their last, making it clear that he and his wife, Brittany, are planning to cap their family at three children. The revelation came during a press conference on Tuesday, following the recent news of Brittany’s pregnancy.
“I’m done, I’ll say that,” Mahomes, 28, stated firmly. “I said three and I’m done.”
Mahomes, a three-time Super Bowl champion, expressed his deep love for fatherhood and his existing family, which includes his daughter Sterling, his son Bronze, and the baby on the way. He reflected on his desire to have children early in his career, inspired by his own upbringing in a sports environment.
“I always wanted to have kids young. I got to grow up in a locker room and it made such an impact in my life. We’re having our third kid now to join our family. Brittany does a great job of doing that and we still go out and enjoy our life and let our kids see these great things,” he shared.
Mahomes emphasized the importance of cherishing family moments amidst his busy professional life. “Whenever I’m with my family I want to enjoy those moments,” he added.
Mahomes is looking to build on his legacy
As Mahomes prepares for his 8th NFL season, his focus remains sharp on both his family and his career. The 10th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft is gearing up for the possibility of a third consecutive championship win.
“Even though we won the Super Bowl last year, we felt we didn’t play our best football,” Mahomes said. “Our goal is to be better and come with that mentality every single day.”
The Chiefs‘ season opener against the Baltimore Ravens is set for September 5, marking the beginning of another exciting NFL season for Mahomes and his team.
